St Edmund and St Fremund, a follow up to Rebecca Pinner’s February talk

Following Rebecca’s fascinating talk in February, she has let us have links to some of the sources she referenced.

The copy of the Lives of Sts Edmund and Fremund made for Henry VI can be viewed online at the British Library

Several copies were subsequently made, although none were as lavishly illuminated. One is of particular interest: it was made during the reign of Edward IV, the king who usurped Henry VI, and when Henry is mentioned by name in the original poem the copy instead reads ‘Edward’.
