This page is intended to act as a journal about our planned project Stories from the Old Ground. This project will record the lives and stories of those buried in the old ground in Bungay Cemetery, and the story of the old ground itself. There’s a bit more about the project and our plans for it here.
We have obtained funding from the UEA Faculty of Arts and Humanities Public Engagement Fund and have also received a grant of £500.00 from Bungay Town Council. We will be applying for funding from other sources over the next few weeks.
We have a provisional timetable worked out which we’ll keep updated here. All dates are of course Covid-19 dependent although those for online training sessions should be unaffected. Dates for the first six months of this year are below. We’ll be asking people to book places via Eventbrite and will be posting a link to book three to four weeks before each event.
First digital training session: Late May, date tba.
First cemetery survey training session: May-June 2021
First cemetery survey: June 2021
Second digital training session: June 2021
As part of these sessions trainees will be introduced to some of the techniques we’ll be using, including for the survey 3D recording, photogrammetry and RTI photography.
If you’d like to get involved in this project please drop us an email and we’ll add you to our mailing list.
