September – Going for a Walk Pt ll – Dr Sarah Spooner

Going for a Walk Pt ll with Dr Sarah Spooner is on September 17th. After our walk down Pymar’s Lane in March we’ll be leaving south Norfolk and popping across the border to High Suffolk to explore the curiously named Shoe Devil Lane and the landscape leading round to the equally curiously named Shadowbarn Farm and skirting the edge of the site of Flixton airfield, USAAF Station 125 from 1942 to 1945. We’ll be taking a circular route starting and finishing in Ilketshall St Margaret, taking in medieval and prehistoric enclosures and field boundaries along the way. The total distance is a little over five miles and the going is easy all the way. There is one slightly tricky stile and a field of cows on the route. We are hoping to be able to arrange parking at St Margaret’s village hall. We’ll be restricting numbers for obvious reasons so please book via Eventbrite. The walk is free to attend.
