May – Round tower churches
On May 17th we welcome Stuart Bowell, chairman of the Round Tower Churches Society.
There are about 190 round tower churches in England, and 160 odd of those are in Norfolk and Suffolk. In the Waveney Valley we are used to seeing them every day, they are part of our landscape, and Stuart will tell us why they predominate in Norfolk and Suffolk, when they were built and how and why they were built as round towers. We’ll be meeting at Needham Village Hall next door to St Peter’s church so we’ll be able to view a round tower church with an expert.

Syleham St Margaret – Stuart Bowell
We’re meeting on Saturday May 17th at 2.00pm at Needham Village Hall, High Road, Needham, IP20 9LB. All welcome, admission £3.00. Teas, coffees and biscuits will be available.
