March meeting – Coming to a Stop – Rob Liddiard
This month we are very pleased to welcome back Rob Liddiard. Based on new research Rob’s talk will be about the archaeology of the defensive lines in Eastern Command in the early years of the second world war and the stop lines that crossed the Waveney Valley.
Last year Rob and David Sims published A Very Dangerous Locality about the landscape of the Suffolk Sandlings in the second world war and it’s well worth a read if you’re interested in the local history of the war. The book went on to win the History and Tradition category in the East Anglian Book Awards.
We’re meeting at Needham Village Hall on Saturday March 14th at 2.00pm. Admission is £2.00 for members, £3.00 non-members, all welcome. The usual refreshments will be available. There may even be hard tack.
