February – Angus Wainwright, National Trust
Our speaker for February is Angus Wainwright who has been the National Trust’s archaeologist for the East of England since 1995.
Angus’s talk, “The work of a National Trust archaeologist – from atom bombs to Saxon kings” will look at the whole range of his work for NT covering all periods and types of archaeology and advising on the research, management and interpretation of archaeological sites and often whole landscapes. The talk will focus in on several sites in the area including Sutton Hoo, Orford Ness and Wimpole Park.
We’re meeting in Needham Village Hall, High Road, Needham, IP20 9LB on Saturday 18th February at 2.00pm. Admission is £3.00, all welcome and there’s no need to book. The usual refreshments will be available.
