Exploring Norfolk Churches – John Vigar
17th October – 2.00pm
John Vigar is an ecclesiologist and the go-to authority on English churches and church buildings. He is the author of many books on churches and church architecture as well as a broadcaster and a compelling lecturer.
In this talk he will take us through the development of churches and church buildings in Norfolk from the eleventh century onwards. There are said to be over six hundred medieval churches in Norfolk and clearly we won’t have time in one afternoon to hear about all of them, but John’s talk will no doubt touch on the county’s highlights, including its round tower churches and its seven sacrament fonts, both of which are to be found in their largest numbers in Norfolk.

We’re meeting at Needham Village Hall, High Road, Needham, IP20 9LB on Saturday 17th October at 2.00pm. Admission will be £8.00, tickets are bookable via Ticketsource. The usual refreshments will be available.
