January Meetings – It’s Medieval Graffiti Month
We thought it was about time we did a bit more staring at walls, so not one but two graffiti related events this month.
First, January 16th, 2.30pm, Needham Village Hall, High Road, Needham, IP20 9LB. All welcome, admission members £2.00, non-members £3.00.
Matthew Champion, director of the Norfolk and Suffolk Medieval Graffiti Survey and author of the recently published “Medieval Graffiti, The Lost Voices of England’s Churches”, will be giving us an update on the work of the surveys which now cover virtually all of England, not forgetting Wales and Cornwall.
We hope he’ll also talk a bit about our second event on January 30th, a one day medieval graffiti workshop and survey at St Andrew’s church, Bedingham where we can learn about the latest photographic and recording techniques and look at some remarkable medieval and post-medieval graffiti. There are a limited number of places for the workshop, so if you’d like to come along, please book your place here.
This day is free for members, £5.00 for non-members, pay on the day.
